  • How does it all work?
We recommend scheduling a complimentary face-to-face consultation to discuss your unique needs, as everyone’s requirements are different
  • Do anti-wrinkle injections hurt?
Botox® injections are relatively painless as the injections are performed using a very fine needle. Patients therefore do not require any anaesthesia. The full treatment takes about 10-15 minutes to perform and you are able to drive and go to work the same day.
  • How long do the effects last?
It can take about 4-14 days to see the full effects after the initial treatment. The cosmetic effects can last up to six months but typically range from three to four months. People will require re-treatment as the wrinkles reappear. In some treated areas (such as frown wrinkles), the wrinkles may return less severe after repeated treatments as the unconscious muscle contraction habit is broken. We offer all our patients a free two week follow up appointment after their first treatment to assess the effect of treatment and administer any top up treatments if necessary.
  • What are the side effects?
Most people find that the injections cause only mild local pain and tenderness. Immediately after the injection there may be mild swelling at the injection site which usually subsides within 48 hours. Some bruising is also possible. Side effects of these treatments are extremely rare. On rare occasions, the treatment may relax nearby muscle groups causing temporary drooping of the eyebrow or eyelids. This will resolve with time and is quite rare.
  • Will I still have facial expressions?
Botox® treatments are designed to smooth dynamic wrinkles in the forehead and around eyes; they do not affect your facial expression. We are a firm believer of natural results. The final result can be tailored to each patient and can be discussed at the initial free consultation. A follow-up appointment is made 2 weeks after your initial treatment, at which time a top-up can be given if required.
  • What after-care advice should I follow?
Try to contract the treated muscle areas for 1-2 hours after treatment, by frowning and lifting eyebrows to allow the toxin to reach all of the treated muscle. Remain upright for 3-4 hours after your treatment. Avoid rubbing or touching the injected areas and avoid having facials and massage for 48 hours this is to ensure that the treatment remains at the site of injection. Avoid vigorous exercise and alcohol for 48 hours. If bruising develops the you can apply Arnica cream Paracetamol can be taken for mild pain post procedure
  • How do dermal Fillers work?
Fillers restore lost volume to your face and plump areas, so that deep-set lines are smoothed. As we age our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which contribute to the youthful look. The generally agreed age that this starts to happen is 25 although there are different opinions! Your collagen and elastin levels then decline at a rate of about 2% per year. Your body will have stopped producing it altogether by your late twenties
  • How soon will I see results following my Dermal Fillers and how long does it last?
Results are seen instantly after the treatment, although this gradually improves over the course of the following 2–4 weeks. Results can last between 9–18 months although optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments. The longevity varies from person to person depending on your requirements and the severity of the area that is being treated, in addition to the particular dermal filler being administered.
  • Are there side effects?
Temporary side effects – those that are completely normal after facial injections – can include; swelling, redness and tenderness.' It's normal to experience a little bit of discomfort, redness and bruising after the procedure. Reactions generally occur immediately after the needle injection and can include; redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising and tenderness at the injection location.' These reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection, usually resolved a few days after the injection into the skin.
  • Do Dermal Fillers hurt?
There may be some slight discomfort whilst the filler is being injected into the face. We minimise this by applying an anaesthetic cream called Lidocaine before treatment. To provide further relief and alleviate as much pain as possible, our fillers contain a pre-mixed local anaesthetic as well.
  • What is Dualift
DuaLift is an exciting new treatment for the face and body. As the name ‘Dual’ suggests it has two treatment modes – which offer the very latest technologies – RF Microneedling and HIFU. These two treatments provide the perfect combination to target the most common concerns when it comes to anti-ageing as well as skin health. DuaLift achieve outstanding results in many areas… Skin tightening Lifting eg. Jowls Smoothing lines and wrinkles Improving scarring Impoving skin texture General anti-ageing The treatment can also be carried out on the body to improve many other concerns.. Fat reduction Scarring (such as breast enhancement scars or other surgical scars) Improvement in stretch marks Tightening sagging skin (eg after childbirth or weight loss)
  • How is it effective?
DuaLift is so effective because it has the ability to target all the layers of the skin, as well as the ‘SMAS’ layers beneath the skin. This means that you’re getting an improvement at every layer, which makes for better results.
  • What are Skin Boosters?
Unlike dermal fillers, skin boosters go beyond adding volume. It's a moisturiser providing more of a huge boost of hydration from within the body. The high concentration of hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin through five key points on each side of the face. It won’t change your face shape or erase deep wrinkles, but skin boosters can improve skin laxity, fine lines, and overall skin quality, making skin look smoother, brighter, and more youthful.
  • How is it administered?
This is done using a tiny needle and typically includes 5 spots on each side of the face around your cheeks, jawline and chin. A second lot of injections are required four to six weeks after the first, and the benefits can last up to six months.
  • What areas can be treated?
It can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage, and other areas of the body.
  • How does Fat Dissolving work?
Fat cells are broken down with the use a solution called of sodium deoxycholate. This causes a localised inflammatory response from the body. The inflammatory response is vital and allows the destroyed fat cells to be removed and excreted via the kidneys. There are three main manufacturers in the UK and we use Aqualyx.
  • Are Fat Dissolving injections safe?
An article published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in 2017 found that there had been 990,000 vials of Fat Dissolving solution used by the end of 2016 in the UK with not one single patient reporting any serious reaction.
  • How quick are the results?
This treatment does require patience unfortunately. Most clients notice a visible difference within six weeks and subsequent treatments do further improve the overall result. They work best with a balanced healthy diet and shouldn't be confused with a way to lose weight. They are designed to help individuals after significant weight loss but are disheartened that they cant shift the fat under their chin, the hard-to-shift fat pad at the small of the back or their 'love handles'. Often these areas are impossible to resolve with diet and exercise alone and they need a little help.
  • How many treatments are required?
Most patients require two or three treatments, usually two-four weeks apart.
